The third Italian Jewelry Summit has concluded

The Italian Jewelry Summit, now in its third edition and organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG) in collaboration with the Municipality of Arezzo, the Chamber of Commerce of Arezzo-Siena, and Arezzo Fiere e Congressi, concluded on Friday, December 1, at the Arezzo Auditorium. The event, founded in 2021 through collaboration between key players in the jewelry sector and trade associations, reaffirms its role as a reference point for the jewelry industry, bringing together stakeholders in the heart of Europe's most important goldsmith district to assess the past year and outline new strategies.

Maurizio Renzo Ermeti, President of Italian Exhibition Group, stated: "With the Italian Jewelry Summit, Italian Exhibition Group aims to strengthen ties with Italy's goldsmith production districts, particularly with Arezzo, with which IEG shares prominent projects and initiatives." Ermeti emphasized the commitment to make the Arezzo branch increasingly relevant in the group's jewelry events, recognizing the strategic importance of the Tuscan district in the global competitiveness of the Italian precious industry.

The focus of the third edition was the future of the sector, with special attention to new generations. Confartigianato presented a project offering €500 scholarships to students choosing goldsmith training courses in 2024. The importance of professional skills was emphasized by Luca Parrini, National President of Confartigianato Orafi e Argentieri, while Massimo Guasconi, President of the Chamber of Commerce Arezzo-Siena, highlighted the need for qualified professionals for expansion into new markets. Daniele Grassucci, co-founder and director of Skuola.net, emphasized the sector's significant potential to attract young talents.

Also at the event was awarded the Best Design 2023 prize in the Talents category of Oroarezzo's Première competition, won by Marta D'Ambrosio, a student at Istituto Orafo Margaritone in Arezzo, with an opal necklace surrounded by rays studded with colored stones.

The event provided insights into the economic scenarios and perspectives of the Italian goldsmith supply chain. Giordana Giordini, President of Orafi Confindustria Toscana Sud, highlighted the year's closure with sector stabilization, emphasizing three key factors to address current challenges: dimensional growth, heritage, and internationalization. Maurizio Forte, Central Director for Export Sectors at ICE Agency, confirmed support for the internationalization of Made in Italy, with a focus on Oroarezzo as a reference event.

The Summit emphasized the importance of synergies and collaboration among various industry players. Arduino Zappaterra, President of CNA Orafi Nazionale, stressed the need for greater dialogue between districts to create an integrated system of education, research, and innovation. The Young Federpreziosi Group was established to promote generational transition.

Sustainability was a central theme, with Vincenzo Aucella, President of Assocoral, outlining projects to ensure the sustainability of Italian coral, highlighting the collective MadeinTorredelGreco brand.

At the end of the Summit, Corrado Peraboni, CEO of IEG, presented the events for 2024, including Vicenzaoro January, Oroarezzo, SIJE in Singapore, Vicenzaoro September, Valenza Gem Forum, JGT in Dubai, and the Italian Jewelry Summit in Arezzo. The Italian Jewelry Summit is an essential element of the Italian Exhibition Group's agenda, consolidating its leadership in organizing B2B events in the jewelry sector.
