Oroarezzo 2025 Opens with Minister Piantedosi: Arezzo Reaffirms Its Role as Capital of Italian Jewelry

More than 370 exhibitors and 400 international buyers gather for the 44th edition of the gold and jewelry trade fair. With a focus on exports, sustainability, and training, the sector responds to global uncertainty through a united "system effect".

The 44th edition of Oroarezzo officially opened today with the presence of Italy’s Minister of the Interior, Matteo Piantedosi. Organized by Italian Exhibition Group (IEG), the event will run through Tuesday, 13 May at Arezzo Fiere e Congressi, showcasing the best of Made in Italy goldsmith and jewelry manufacturing and technologies. Despite the complex global backdrop, the fair presents solid numbers: over 370 exhibitors and 400 hosted foreign buyers from 60 countries.

During the opening, Minister Piantedosi received a joint position paper from industry associations, highlighting key issues such as security, regulatory streamlining, training, generational transition, and internationalization—all vital for the sector’s revival. The opening day also featured two major economic panels. The first, organized with Club degli Orafi Italia and Intesa Sanpaolo, addressed critical topics including tariff barrierssustainability, and supply chain dynamics. The second, promoted by ICE and Yoodata, focused on opportunities for Italian jewelry in European markets. On Sunday, attention will shift to the Asian market with a dedicated session on Vietnamese jewelry demand, followed by Federpreziosi Confcommercio’s Retail Observatory, and the eagerly awaited Première jewelry design competition awards ceremonyMaurizio Ermeti, President of IEG, emphasized the importance of collaboration: “Despite global tensions and geopolitical uncertainty, we have built a strong system together with our local partners. This system effect gives us the strength to further consolidate Italy’s position in the global market.” The message was echoed by local authorities. Mayor Alessandro Ghinelli called Oroarezzo “a strategic international showcase that highlights a key Made in Italy excellence.” For Provincial President Alessandro Polcri, the event “drives innovation and generational renewal in our local goldsmith district.” Similarly, Massimo Guasconi from the Arezzo-Siena Chamber of Commerce highlighted the fair’s role in energizing the entire supply chain. Giordana Giordini of Confindustria Federorafi stressed the importance of investing in youth: “The future of Made in Italy lies with the next generations. We must provide them with tools, vision, and opportunities to grow.” Luca Parrini, President of the Arezzo Goldsmith Council, called for continued collaboration with ICE and IEG to access new markets, while Maurizio Forte, ICE’s Director of Export Sectors, outlined the agency’s commitment to the jewelry sector with “over 20 promotional activities per year and strong international fair participation.” Finally, Eugenio Giani, President of the Tuscany Region, described the event as “an opportunity for growth and development,” adding: “We must strengthen the alliance between institutions and businesses, focusing on training, innovation, and territorial marketing.” Oroarezzo 2025 once again confirms its role as a global hub for the jewelry industry, where tradition meets innovation and strategic thinking helps shape the future of Italian craftsmanship.
